a note from me
A few years ago, I was sitting on my bed overlooking the water in Amsterdam while my daughter slept nearby — and one question kept circling in my body:
“When is my life going to take off?”
I had goals. I had done deep meditations, healing courses, 550+ hours of yoga teacher training. I knew the language of manifestation, neuroscience and quantum physics.
But beneath all of it, I could feel the truth: I was still holding myself back.
My intuition told me to travel to Costa Rica.
I thought I knew what I needed: a psychedelic journey.
So I found a place where I could do it, felt the familiar fear, and booked two tickets — one for me and one for my daughter.
We arrived in Costa Rica. It was lush, beautiful, sensual, heartfelt. We took the tiniest plane into the countryside, into the jungle, where we stayed for five weeks.
The next morning, I discovered that all the psychedelic journeys had been cancelled.
I laughed. Of course.
We never get what we think we want. We get what we need.
Luckily, I had already trained myself to surrender the little mind to the big, magical mystery of life. And then, unexpectedly, I found myself in a series of workshops that unlocked the Pandora’s box of the persona.
I was challenged to go far beyond my conditioning.
I met my Dark Feminine.
I saw my shadows.
I discovered that I actually had rage in me — and learned how to express it in a healthy way.
And then, seemingly out of nowhere, books, courses and teachers began appearing in my life that took me even deeper into this work.
I trusted I wasn't being shown all of this for nothing.
I transformed.
Deeply.
So deeply that I began to move through the world from a completely different energy.
A Queen.
Not the Queen who sits on a throne and is too good for the dishes.
A true Queen.
The woman who leaves a place better than she found it.
Who holds herself.
Who creates her best life.
Who takes responsibility for everything in her life.
I started noticing the effects of the work in every interaction.
Every time I spoke.
Everything I took an action.
And my life truly started to take off.
Beyond my wildest dreams.
And again, I saw what The Root Method™ had been based on all along:
No amount of pushing, positive thinking or perfect strategy can sustainably create a new life when the part of you making the decisions is still organized around fear, proving and survival.
